I cannot stop thinking about my new addiction

Here is one of the trailers for the movie. I have now read all 3 books in the series that are out and cannot wait until August when the 4th comes out. I would also like to become a vampire.

my favorite new teen series...

Well as most of you know I am teaching reading and writing this year not pre-algebra. I have been collecting books right and left. I pay close attention to the genres that my students like and try to supply my classroom bookshelves with these types. This year there has been a great fascination with the twilight series by stephanie meyer.

She graduated from BYU and lives in pheonix. I thought they can't be all that bad. I read the reviews on them and bought the 3 books in the series. I didn't even think about reading them because they deal with a love between a girl and a boy who happens to be a vampire. Not really my genre. However I see my struggling girl readers just suck them up and refuse to put them down. I dove into the first novel and haven't been able to do anything else. Great book!

Our new old car

We bought a new old car. A 1990 toyota 4runner. It has been owned by the same lady and is in great shape. Greg found them on a 4 wheeling site. We drove up to denver to pick it up. You can imagine what I was thinking a $600, 19 year old car, that has a blown engine. I was sooo excited. We get up their and push and lift the thing on the trailer. We get it home and Greg says lets see if it does start. He hooks it up to jump it and it starts! Now it did have a loud sound coming from the engine but it started. We drove it around the neighborhood and it handles really well. This is when I realized that I am really becoming like my husband...I got excited to drive it.

April Fool's Day

I haven't had internet for about 4 days so this is a little old from this past week. I play this joke on my students every year. It is great to see them look in disgust and then whine and complain. I get them every time.
I told all my students that if they turned in their homework... then on Tuesday I would give them brownees.(notice the spelling) They make sure that they all get it done and are truly concerned for those who do not. Then on Tuesday I have them close their eyes and go around placing their treat on their desks. On the count of 3 we all open our eyes together to see the brownee on their desk.

You can imagine the disappointment that they have. I remind them that it is April Fool's day and proceed to laugh at them. This is the one day of the year that I look forward to going to school.
Even Daisy was a little put out by the thought.
