talent show

I got a few teachers together to perform in our school's talent show. I had done this in college and thought the students would enjoy it. They loved it! I am the one in the middle with the green cap on. I also have green flower shorts. Sorry it is so blurry, the teacher taping it didn't know how to use the camera all that well.

arches

A couple of weeks ago Jen and Mark and their children came out to Fruita and spent the weekend with us. One day we went to arches and handed the camera to Kylei and this is what she took. The first one is a family picture on them sitting in an arch. I think it is cool.

This is one of my favorite pictures that Kylei took. She knows what true art is.

Arches

Mark, ALexis and Kylei standing in front of a carin that was on the trial.

Jen Greg's sister caught on the fly.

Kylei and Jordan with Daisy. She loved them.

Pictures from the 7th grade camping trip

Sorry it has been a while the computer went down and I had no idea how post and upload pictures from the camera. Really I was too busy/lazy to try and figure it out. Greg got the computer to boot back up so we are blogging again.

Two of the other teachers that went up on this trip. Formisano is the girl in the pink shirt and Beamon is the one with the hat on. Both are really fun teachers.

The first day we took them on a hike to the top of the mesa that was in the area. Here is where we stopped to eat lunch.

At the end of the hike was a little arch that they climbed down to. To get up they had to pull themselves up with the rope. Daisy wanted to go down and I didn't stop her in time. She couldn't get back up and we ended up tying the rope around her and pulling/dragging her up.

Here is one group cooking their own food. The students were responsible for cooking what they wanted to eat. Some of them had hot dogs for every meal.

This is the whole group on the last day. Notice Daisy in the front sprawled out on the ground. She was so exhausted.

7th grade camping trip

It is a tradition fro the 7th graders at my school to go on a 3 day camping trip. As a teacher this means that we are in charge of the entire thing. We split the kids up into groups of 25 and then head up to the Colorado national monument. We do hikes, challenge activities, stream studies and an orienteering adventure. It really is a great activity. The students bring up all their food and camping gear. Its neat to see low income students who have never been camping succeed and have a blast.
